Islamic Art Exhibition – A Moment’s Pause: Tribute to A.D. Pirous

WTC 3 Lobby, 26 February 2026 – 3 April 2026

We meet in the opening days of 2026, during a month that collectively calls us to practice restraint. Outside these walls, the worlds of commerce, politics, and diplomacy move at a relentless and unforgiving pace. We have grown accustomed to a life of constant acceleration, driven by economic targets and bureaucratic structures. This rhythm often leaves us feeling numb, as if we were merely small parts of a giant machine that never sleeps.

This tribute to the master painter A.D. Pirous, held here at the World Trade Centre in collaboration with ISA Art Gallery and Serambi Pirous, stands as a quiet antithesis to that noise: A Moment’s Pause. We welcome you beneath this sheltering canopy, a space that we hope offers the benefits of art to everyone. Our wish is for this place to provide a sense of shade, inviting us to become more mindful and wise as we step toward the days ahead.

Through his signature “abstract-narrative” style, A.D. Pirous does not present art as a cryptic visual puzzle. Instead, he comes to us as a storyteller and a friend. He offers a space for everyone, regardless of faith or background, to “fast” for a moment from the demands of ego and worldly ambition. While his work often draws from the well of Islamic spirituality, Pirous speaks a universal language of virtue. He seeks to mend the three fundamental relationships often frayed by our busy lives: our connection with one another, our bond with the earth, and our dialogue with the Divine.

In this season of stillness, let this exhibition be a resting place for the soul. May you find your balance here before returning to the world with a clearer heart.
