Seek Alignment

WTC 3 Lobby, 4 April 2022 – 4 June 2022

Ramadan is the holy month for Muslims to draw closer to the Allah, the Creator, in order to seek His blessings and bounties. This Ramadan, we present “Seek Alignment” an art exhibition featuring four Indonesian artists: A.D Pirous, Bodhi IA, Mujahidin Nurrahman, and Wahyu Adi Santoso.

"Seek Alignment" is an art exhibition curated to welcome Ramadan based on the depth of the artist's narrative. Art is one of many ways to express one's ideas and thoughts, and Ramadan is a month that teaches about kindness, patience, tolerance, love, and happiness. These ideas can be seen in a variety of creative media at this exhibition, where artists can share how they welcome and celebrate Ramadan through their artworks.

Art, particularly religious art, is an external expression of an artist's personal view. Artists associate the spiritual term with a connection to something larger than themselves, such as God or the universe. Artists – regardless of their personal beliefs – turn to spiritual philosophy and theological iconography to discuss their beliefs and understand the present moment. Artists' perspectives on the spiritual aspect of art differ as well, so these narratives are thought to be important in reminding us of the diversity of perspectives in this exhibition.
