URBAN PULSE: Spectrum of Contemporary Art in Singapore
WTC 2 Lobby, 18 November – 13 December 2024The Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Jakarta, in collaboration with the Singapore Tourism Board, ISA Art and Design, and Jakarta Land, presents URBAN PULSE: Spectrum of Contemporary Art in Singapore, showcasing works by contemporary Singaporean artists. These artists explore the intersection of personal and collective experiences, reflecting modern society through varied mediums and perspectives. The exhibition also foreshadows Singapore Art Week 2025, featuring major events such as SEA Focus, ART SG, Light to Night Singapore, and the return of the Singapore Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2024.
By bringing Singaporean contemporary art to Surabaya and Jakarta, URBAN PULSE fosters engagement and insight into Singapore’s artistic scene, highlighting shared themes and socio-cultural concerns. The exhibition promotes regional dialogue and enriches cultural diplomacy by addressing topics like urban-nature integration and environmental awareness, inviting viewers to reflect on how urban life shape identity and society.
